American Dining Workshop

Join us for a crash course in American dining manners.
Have you ever wondered which fork to use?
. . . how to set the table for a formal dinner, a brunch or a picnic?
. . . how to eat bread without getting crumbs everywhere?
. . . how about corn on the cob, artichokes and caviar?
We will review all the table manners basics and prepare you for the fanciest affairs. Plus details on sending and receiving invitations and writing proper thank you notes.
Included in the workshop is a five-course meal where you can practice what you have learned.

Our intensive summer English programs meet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There are two sessions. Summer courses are taught by Fairfax Christian High School teachers.
The program is offered for beginning and intermediate English students entering grades five and up.
Students begin the session with comprehensive placement tests. Topics covered depend on the student’s level and include phonics, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, conversation, public speaking, and TOEFL preparation.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826) was the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. He was the third President of the United States who oversaw the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
